Octet® AAVX biosensors for quantitation of AAV capsids

18 Nov 2022

Adeno-associated virus (AAV), with low immunogenicity and toxicity, has become one of the most promising viral vectors in the field of gene therapy. A rapid and robust method for AAV capsid quantitation is essential for AAV bioprocess development and manufacturing. This tech note introduces a rapid, label-free method for direct capture and quantitation of various AAV serotypes on the Octet® Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) Platform using the Octet® AAVX Biosensors.

BiosensorsBiosensors are devices used to detect an analyte using biological molecules specific to the analyte coupled to a detector. Biosensor instruments may be photometric, typically using surface plasma resonance (SPR), electrochemical or QCM (quartz crystal microbalance) biosensors. Biosensors should be selective, portable, robust and sensitive and have a fast response time. Systems may be manual or automated and usually have associated software.
