Characterizing protein aggregation with orthogonal and complementary analytical techniques
11 May 2023In this white paper, Yokogawa Fluid Imaging Technolgies discusses the use of flow imaging microscopy (FIM) to analyze subvisible particles in biotherapeutic research. FIM instruments can measure particle characteristics like concentration, size, and morphology, but additional techniques are required to fully characterize the particle content of these samples. To address this, several FlowCam® instruments have been developed that modify the basic FIM technique, such as FlowCam Nano and FlowCam LO. This white paper demonstrates how the combination of FlowCam Nano, FlowCam LO, and dynamic light scattering (DLS) can be used to characterize particles in biotherapeutic samples, including those too small for standard FIM measurements.
