Xylem Inc., a leading global water technology company, will showcase their portfolio of strong industry brands and comprehensive analytical solutions at Pittcon 2014.

Xylem’s lab, field and online capabilities will be on display in booth #4231 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois March 3 – 6.

Integrated solutions across the brands

As Xylem showcases their strong analytics brands and diverse market capabilities at Pittcon 2014, the company continues to engage in a true problem/solution dialogue with the customer, to provide a comprehensive approach to customer needs across the brands. Ultimately the discussion with the customer will lead to a specific product solution to solve the problem, but Xylem can provide a true comprehensive approach.

“As we continue to evolve our approach to the market and aligning our businesses accordingly, it’s amazing to see our teams deliver on customer solutions across the brands,” said Chris McIntire, senior vice president and president of Analytics and Treatment. “Stretching the boundaries of the status quo is what we challenge ourselves to do every day. And we now have a pretty impressive track record of making that happen for the customer.”

The proven analytical brands of Xylem serve many market segments, and the focus of the effort this year will be on Wastewater, Surface Water, Food & Beverage, Life Science and Analytical Lab. Many of the brands that currently make up the Xylem Analytics portfolio will be exhibiting at Pittcon 2014, and they will include YSI, OI Analytical, Bellingham + Stanley, SI Analytics, ebro, and WTW.

New Products

In conjunction with highlighting the market solutions approach at Pittcon 2014 this year, Xylem will also be rolling out a number of new products across multiple brands. Xylem’s YSI and OI Analytical brands will showcase new products, as will Xylem’s Bellingham + Stanley and ebro brands.

Xylem’s YSI brand will be launching the new 2900M Monitoring and Control System, as an innovative solution to address the online monitoring needs of bioprocess applications. The 2900M also features the YSI Sitini Online Sampler. YSI will also be introducing the TruLab series of instruments, a complete line of laboratory instruments ideal for routine and precise measurements of pH, mV, ISE, and temperature.

Xylem’s OI Analytical brand will introduce the 4100 Water / Soil Sample Processor, which automates the handling and processing of samples in 40mL VOA (volatile organic analysis) vials for purge-and-trap analysis of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in accordance with U.S. EPA methods.

To address the chemical, pharmaceutical and food sectors, Xylem’s Bellingham + Stanley brand is pleased to announce the launch of the ADP600 Series high accuracy Peltier temperature-controlled polarimeters to measure chiral compounds and other optically active substances.

Useful features of analyzers such as BOD and COD include portability, easy calibration, automation and sensitivity.  Environmental test kits for pH, water, moisture, etc, should be accurate, sensitive, reliable, fast and easy to use.Food and Beverage AnalyzersFood and Beverage Analyzers are commonly used to provide information about the chemical composition, structure and physical properties of food materials.PolarimetryPolarimetry is the measurement and interpretation of the polarization of transverse waves such as radio or light. Typically polarimetry is performed on waves that have traveled through or have been reflected, refracted, or diffracted by a material in order to characterize that object. Polarimetry can be used to measure various optical properties of a material, including linear and circular birefringence, and linear and circular dichroism.Water PurificationThere are a number of water purification methods available to remove contamination from laboratory water. These systems include demineralization, reverse osmosis, filtration and ultrafiltration.
