With an ever-increasing focus on the detection of multi-ranges of contaminants and pollutants, to higher sensitivities of detection, analytical chemists are placed under increasing pressures.

For analytes which may be reduced or oxidized, sensitivities of 10 –15 mol are achievable with ease and simplicity, using a Cecil Electrochemical Detection Adept HPLC System.

Hence trace level detection of many water contaminants, such as some residual toiletries and pesticides; and electroplating, mining, fracking and semi-conductor effluent analytes, is possible.

The electrochemical detection Adept HPLC System is high specification, extremely low drift and ultra-low noise, robust, reliable and modular. It includes an electrochemical detector, 21 CFR part 11 compliance PowerStream software, an isocratic pump, and a column heater/chiller, with an optional autosampler.

The high stability temperature controlled electrochemical detector, may be used in three modes, DC, scanning DC and pulsed amperometric. Gold, glassy carbon, silver and platinum working electrodes may be used, together with a choice of reference electrodes.

The detector may also be used with Cecil Q-Adept HPLC and IonQuest Ion Chromatography systems, plus many third party liquid chromatography systems.

With the options of AutoQuest autosamplers, a wide range of additional detectors, post column reactors and customized configurations, EPA compliance is available.

AutosamplersAutosamplers are automated sample loaders used with a number of separation and analytical techniques. HPLC autosamplers use automated partial or full-loop injection systems and place samples in vials or microplates for analysis. Autosamplers can also be used for elemental analysis. Features to consider include repeatability, syringe capacity, footprint and temperature controls.  UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns. Useful features of analyzers such as BOD and COD include portability, easy calibration, automation and sensitivity.  Environmental test kits for pH, water, moisture, etc, should be accurate, sensitive, reliable, fast and easy to use.Food and Beverage AnalyzersFood and Beverage Analyzers are commonly used to provide information about the chemical composition, structure and physical properties of food materials.Food and Beverage ProcessingFood and Beverage Processing involves the preparation of food products for further analysis. Typical instrumentation includes blanchers, color sorters, cookers, grinders, and refrigeration. These are used to replicate the processes commonly used in the commercial preparation of food and beverages.Water PurificationThere are a number of water purification methods available to remove contamination from laboratory water. These systems include demineralization, reverse osmosis, filtration and ultrafiltration. A combination of methods is sometimes necessary to achieve purified water suitable for use in experiments.PesticidesPesticides are used to protect crops from diseases, pests and unwanted plants. They are classed as persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and can be harmful to humans. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) currently regulates the use of pesticides in the USA. EPA MethodsEPA methods are procedures approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for monitoring and analyzing environmental pollutants, including air, water, and soil samples. These methods are critical in ensuring public health and environmental safety.
