Sugars and Sugar Alcohols Applying Mass-Selective Detection After Desalting
15 Sept 2014Traces of sugars and sugar alcohols are usually determined with pulsed amperometric detection. This Application Note describes the determination of nine sugars and sugar alcohols applying an MS detector after desalting. MS detection is particularly useful when the analytes to be determined are not completely separated. The SIM mode results in an increased selectivity and enables the quantification of the individual analytes.
