Generating reliable kinetic data for protein-ligand interactions
13 Nov 2019The community Structure Activity Resource (cSAR) group is developing a database of high quality protein-ligand structures and the corresponding binding affinities. the data will be provided from in-house experiments and community collaborations. the proteins are generally well-studied structures that have been targeted in drug discovery projects. This application note describes how the octet RED96 system has dramatically increased the data that can be produced in a short time, turning it into the workhorse of the cSAR project.

ProteomicsProteomics is the systemic bioinformatics study of proteins and amino acids, including their structure, size, function and identification. Tools used in proteomics include chromatography, blotting and gels, protein arrays, mass spectrometry and ELISA and associated analysis software. Analyzers and proteomic systems should be sensitive, high resolution, fast and may be automated for high-throughput.Cell-Based AssaysCell-based assays are used to monitor the presence, quantity and activities of a desired cellular analyte including drug molecules or biomarkers. This can reveal information on cell health (apoptosis, cytotoxicity, viability and proliferation assays), cell metabolism, cell migration and cell signaling mechanisms. Find the best cell-based assay products, kits and equipment with our peer reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receiving pricing direct from manufacturers.Protein CrystallographyProtein crystallization is the process of crystallizing purified proteins for 3D structure analysis by x-ray crystallography. The main methods of protein crystallization include sitting drop, hanging drop and microbatch. It is important to control parameters such as pH, temperature and concentration. Following crystallization, detectors and software are used for data collection and analysis.Protein InteractionsProtein interactions are essential for understanding cellular processes, as proteins work together to carry out biological functions. Studying protein interactions can provide insights into disease mechanisms, drug development, and cell signaling pathways.
