Enhanced sensitivity of Beckman Coulter DxI 9000 reduces sample & reagent use
11 Nov 2024The Beckman Coulter DxI 9000 analyzer features advanced technology like the Lumi-Phos PRO substrate, an upgraded luminometer, and precise low-volume pipetting, which enhances assay sensitivity. These improvements enable reduced sample and reagent volumes, conserving patient samples, minimizing packaging waste, and increasing tests per reagent pack. Studies on Access TSH, βhCG, and PSA assays show analytical performance is maintained with decreased volumes. This supports efficient, resource-conserving immunoassay development while maintaining performance standards.

Clinical ChemistryBiochemistry (or clinical chemistry) involves the analysis of bodily fluids using chemical tests. Techniques used include HPLC, chromatography, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, immunochemical, electrophoresis, turbidometric / spectrophotometric assay, MRI and ISE analysis. Tests are often carried out on plasma or serum but urine (urinalysis) and fecal specimens are also processed.CLINICAL24CLINICAL24 is a global conversation, hosted by SelectScience for the medical laboratory profession and all those that support it. The purpose of CLINICAL24 is to highlight current lab challenges, and to explore the technology solutions to overcome them. ImmunoassayImmunoassays are laboratory tests that utilize antibody-antigen interactions to detect specific substances. They are widely used in diagnostics for detecting diseases, drug testing, and environmental monitoring. These assays offer rapid, sensitive, and precise detection of biomarkers, making them invaluable in clinical and research labs.
