Great so far, wish the user could switch back and forth between water quality though.

Microbiology media prep

Would like the option to toggle back-and-forth between types 1, 2, and 3 water quality, but it seems to just do the highest quality type 1 by default.

Why water purity matters

Water is essential to the pharmaceutical industry. The quality of the water must be controlled throughout the production, storage and distribution processes, particularly for microbiological and chemical contaminants.

One of the most common techniques used in pharmaceutical production to verify drug purity is high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Due to the detailed analysis HPLC can generate, purified water is crucial for obtaining clear HPLC data. Explore how important purified water is in HPLC analysis, and discover how to avoid errors such as ghost peaks from dissolved compounds or blockages from microorganisms.

Application NoteLife Sciences

Overcoming challenges in genetics and genomics research

In this application note, ELGA Labwater discusses the role of high-purity water in genetic and genomics research. Ultrapure water is a critical reagent that plays a pivotal role in a wide range of molecular biology applications, including DNA sequencing, transcriptomic, and epigenomic studies. Using high-quality reagents, such as ultrapure water, is necessary to ensure the reliability and integrity of research outcomes. However, many challenges associated with accessing high-purity water exist, including the origin of the water used and the grade of the water. Many institutes are benefiting from water purification systems such as the ELGA PURELAB® Quest, which provides a reliable supply of water types 1, 2, and 3 by combining various purification techniques.

5 steps to achieving a biosafe lab: Integrating fundamental water purification needs

In this application note, ELGA LabWater presents an overview of the key considerations when establishing a biosafety laboratory. The focus is on designing, constructing, and utilizing these laboratories at various biosafety levels. Whether starting from scratch or upgrading an existing lab, this application note outlines important criteria to ensure biosafety. Additionally, it assists in understanding the broader needs involved in lab design and usage, such as securing a safe water supply and managing contamination and waste. The five essential steps discussed include: correctly assessing biosafety risks, recognizing laboratory biosafety as more than just building requirements, determining required facilities across different biosafety levels (BSL-1 to BSL-4), ensuring appropriate water supply, and implementing standardized staff training and protocols.
