Even the most meticulous pipetting may generate aerosols during aspiration of the sample which can make their way into the pipette shaft and contaminate the pipette. With many applications (PCR, radioactive pipetting, etc.), contamination of the pipette cannot be tolerated.
In order to prevent aerosol contamination along with the resulting consequences (falsified results, additional expenditure in time and cost), SARSTEDT incorporates special porous elements in its range of filter tips.
