Product news

Thermo Fisher Scientific is pleased to announce a new carbohydrate column, the Thermo Scientific™ CarboPac™ PA10 (0.4 x 50 mm) Capillary Column, optimized for the high sensitivity determination of amino, neutral, and acidic monosaccharides found in carbohydrate moieties of mammalian glycoproteins. The column is also ideal for the separation of alditols and sugars in matrices such as fruits and vegetables.

This new polymeric column is packed with 10 μm diameter non-porous beads featuring a cross-linked structure to ensure long column life and stability from pH 0–14 at all concentrations of buffer salts. Advantages of this column include simple, isocratic separations, gradient compatibility, and sample derivatization is not required.

The column should be of interest to researchers and chemists in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical markets.

UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns.
