Phenomenex Inc., a global leader in the research and manufacture of advanced technologies for the separation sciences, will present three original workshops at Pittcon 2015 in New Orleans.

“A Survey of Current Microsampling Techniques in Developing Analytical Methods from Whole Blood” will be presented on Monday, March 9 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 269. Speakers will include drug discovery and clinical research experts from Bristol-Myers Squibb and Amgen. Panelists will discuss new sampling solutions for collecting, storing and transferring human and animal blood and biological samples for analysis.

“Current Topics in Analytical Food Analysis” will be presented on Tuesday March 10 at 1:30 p.m. in Room 274. Speakers will include experts from Eurofins, Silliker Laboratories and AB SCIEX. The workshop will cover the development and implementation of new methods and technologies for solving food quality and safety analytical challenges.

“Successful HPLC Method Development and Transfer with Core-Shell and UHPLC Columns” will be presented on Thursday, March 12 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 274. Speakers include industry experts from Agilent, Supelco/Sigma-Aldrich, Eli Lilly and Company and The Dow Chemical Company. The workshop will cover effective method development for high-speed and/or high resolving power and effective method transfer using columns packed with core-shell, UHPLC and HPLC particles.

UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns. For more specialized HPLC, explore FPLC, countercurrent LC and simulated moving bed systems. Find the best UHPLC and HPLC equipment in our peer reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Food TestingFood testing refers to a variety experiments including PCR, mass spectrometry, processing, QuEChERS, analyzing and Kjeldahl.Blood AnalysisThe analysis of blood is vital for many areas of life sciences and forensic investigations. Blood samples can be tested for a number of different reasons such as diagnosis, glucose levels, cholesterol and drug testing.
