MilliporeSigma will showcase a range of new products for the life science industry and host a media briefing introducing the integrated organization at the Pittcon Conference & Expo 2016, March 6-10 in Atlanta, Georgia, booth #3157.

MilliporeSigma will launch the following five products at the show:

  • Spectroquant® Prove – A new class of spectrophotometers for simplified, durable and durable analysis of waste water, drinking water, beverages and process water.
  • Watercol™ - A new capillary gas chromatography column that contains innovative liquid stationary phases and produces a sharp peak shape for water, allowing convenient water analysis.
  • Ascentis® Express Biphenyl – A new column containing high-performance Fused-Core® particles, offering extra separation power when compared with traditional C18 phenyl HPLC columns.
  • SLB® IL (i-series) – A new capillary gas chromatography column that provides both selectivity and inertness towards polar analytics, resulting in better accuracy and sensitivity.
  • Supel™ QuE Verde – A new QuEChERS sorbent for challenging compounds, exhibiting improved recovering of problematic planar analytes when compared to traditional sorbent.

Gas ChromatographyGas chromatography (GC) is an analytical technique used to separate and quantitate mixtures of small and volatile compounds. Gas chromatographs or GC systems include components such as GC columns, detectors, pumps and autosamplers. Choose from packed or capillary GC columns, flame ionization (FID), photoionization (PID) electron capture detectors and selective or non-selective detectors. Find the best gas chromatographs in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns. For more specialized HPLC, explore FPLC, countercurrent LC and simulated moving bed systems. Useful features of analyzers such as BOD and COD include portability, easy calibration, automation and sensitivity.  Environmental test kits for pH, water, moisture, etc, should be accurate, sensitive, reliable, fast and easy to use.Food and Beverage ProcessingFood and Beverage Processing involves the preparation of food products for further analysis. Typical instrumentation includes blanchers, color sorters, cookers, grinders, and refrigeration. These are used to replicate the processes commonly used in the commercial preparation of food and beverages.Water PurificationThere are a number of water purification methods available to remove contamination from laboratory water. These systems include demineralization, reverse osmosis, filtration and ultrafiltration. A combination of methods is sometimes necessary to achieve purified water suitable for use in experiments.QuEChERSThe QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe) method is a streamlined approach that is used to extract multi-residue target compounds from food samples. It is most commonly used by analytical chemists studying pesticide residues in food.Waste WaterPittconPittcon is one of the largest conferences and exhibitions dedicated to laboratory science. It brings together professionals and innovators in analytical chemistry, physics, and biology, offering a platform to explore the latest scientific tools and technologies. From cutting-edge laboratory instruments to emerging research trends, Pittcon is a must-attend event for professionals in research and development. Water AnalysisAnalytical methods used to test the purity of drinking water include determining the level of contaminants abides to the level set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).Process MonitoringSpectrophotometrySpectrophotometry is a technique used to measure the absorption or transmission of light through a sample. It is commonly used in chemical analysis, environmental monitoring, and quality control.
