HMGN1 rabbit antibody (pAb)
HMGN1 (High mobility group protein N1, HMG14) is a non-histone chromatin protein that binds to the inner side of the nucleosomal DNA, potentially altering the interaction between the DNA and the histone octamer. HMG proteins HMGs share functional motifs that bind specific DNA structures (minor grooves) and induce conformational changes without specificity for target sequences. HMGN1 may be involved in maintaining chromatin in an open, active conformation.
