Walk-Away qPCR Setup Using the JANUS Automated Workstation and ABI Quantifiler Human DNA Quantification Kit

This application note describes how the JANUS Automated Workstation is used to fully automate quantitative PCR assays using the Quantifiler® Human DNA Quantification Kit from Applied Biosystems, Inc. Quantifiler® kits are widely used in clinical research, diagnostic and forensic labs because of their sensitivity and large dynamic range. It is shown how automated qPCR protocols can be used by both the CODIS (convicted offender) database and casework forensic DNA laboratories to eliminate the large bottlenecks created by these labor-intensive PCR procedures.
