As a result of the growing awareness that freons were contributing to damage in the ozone-layer, alternatives were developed, and, in some cases, the production of freons were banned. The environmental impact caused by the use of freons has led the attention to the primary importance of an accurate quantification of these compounds, even at lowest concentration. This application note describes an automated, efficient and “green” method for the analysis of freons.
