Streamlining Current Approaches for Extractable Analysis Utilizing Waters MV-10 ASFE and ACQUITY UPC2 Systems
12 Mar 2013This application note describes the extraction and screening of four different types of packaging material for 14 common polymer additives. Results demonstrate that supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) offers greater flexibility than microwave extraction. It is also shown that SFE represents a substantial saving in solvent consumption and run time compared to Soxhlet extraction.

UltraPerformance Convergence ChromatographyConvergence Chromatography expands the capabilities of reversed phase LC and conventional GC techniques. By varying mobile phase strength, pressure, temperature and stationary phase Convergence Chromatography facilitates the separation, detection and quantification of many compounds and samples. The CO2< / sub> mobile phase used reduces the need for toxic solvents.Convergence ChromatographyPolymersPolymers are large molecules made up of many repeat units. Natural polymers such as DNA and proteins are essential to life, whereas synthetic polymers such as polystyrene and polyethylene are used widely due to their functionality. Typical techniques for analysis include GPC, SEC, DSC, FT-IR and NMR.ChromatographyChromatography is a powerful technique used to separate and analyze components of mixtures based on their chemical properties. It is widely used in fields like biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, and environmental analysis. By exploiting differences in the interaction of substances with a stationary phase and a mobile phase, chromatography enables precise purification and quantification of compounds. Whether you're working with complex biological samples or industrial chemicals, chromatography is essential for obtaining high-quality results.
