This product brochure describes Agilent’s Easy-fit ICP-MS supplies which are designed to simplify replacing and trimming your peristaltic pump tubing, verifying the timing, and updating the method after changing the ISIS 3 sample loop and periodic lens cleaning.

Easy-fit Peristaltic Pump Tubing for ICP-MS

Agilent Technologies

Agilent provides a range of Easy-fit peristaltic pump tubing for ICP-MS, in suitable materials for your sample and matrix. This includes robust long-life drain tubing and high purity uptake tubing. Including materials such as PVC, SolvaFlex and Ismaprene to meet your application needs including aqueous, organic solvent or HF resistance. The Agilent ICP-MS features an on-board peristaltic pump that controls the flow of solution into and waste out of the sample introduction system. Using a peristaltic pump to assist sample introduction reduces the variation in uptake flow rate due to variation in physical properties of the solutions being introduced.

Atomic Absorption / Emission SpectroscopyAtomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and atomic emission spectroscopy (AES) — also called optical emission spectroscopy (OES) — are used to detect the elemental constituents in samples. Both techniques involve the atomization of a sample. Atomic absorption spectrometers may use a flame or furnace to create an atomic vapor of the sample before irradiation with spectral light. Optical emission spectrometers may use a flame, inductively coupled plasma (ICP), microwave plasma (MP) or spark arcs to atomize and excite the sample. At higher excitation energies, electrons can be emitted instead of photons, which can be useful for samples that can’t be atomized and for surface analysis. Explore electron spectroscopy equipment such as Auger spectrometers and photoelectron spectrometers for surface elemental analysis of samples. It involves ionizing elements in the samples with extremely high-temperature Argon (Ar) plasma and then using a mass spectrometer to measure the number of ions based on their mass-to-charge ratio (m/z).
