Rapid Quality Control for the Traditional Chinese Remedy “Red Flower Oil” by FT-IR Spectroscopy
8 Nov 2010This application note shows that infrared spectroscopy with ATR sampling can be used to obtain an indicative determination of the quality of red flower oil in less than a minute. Qualitative inspection of the spectra allows the easy identification of the key components, methyl salicylate and eugenol.
