Quality control of analytical parameters in battery production
13 Apr 2023In this application note,Metrohm AG discussed how analytical testing of various quality parameters, such as moisture content or material composition, is necessary throughout the production process of Li-ion batteries (LIBs). Techniques such as Karl Fischer titration and ion chromatography can be used to analyze moisture content and ionic impurities, which can negatively impact the safety, lifetime, and performance of LIBs. Titration and ion chromatography can also be utilized to monitor the composition of final cathode materials and electrolytes, ensuring cost-efficient production.
