Processing Human Serum for Rapid and Reproducible N-Glycan Mass Profiling
29 Nov 2011The role of Glycans in communication and cell signaling greatly assists with identification and characterization of hESC’s. This application note describes the purification of N-glycans from human serum samples performed by the University of California Davis. Using the Gilson GX-274 ASPEC, N-glycan mass profiling was performed in addition to further biomarker discovery N-glycan quantification.

The use of biomarkers in research and diagnosis can indicate a normal or disease state or drug response of cells / tissues. Biomarkers include genetic markers, cell surface markers such as antigens, antibodies or receptors and secreted molecules such as cytokines. An assay system is required for identification of biomarkers. :hESCGlycans
