The following experiment determines peptide recovery scores from various samples using SuperBlue Ultra, Coomassie G250 stain, and silver stain SDS-PAGE gels. Improving stain sensitivity often impairs mass spec data due to harsh staining conditions; however, SuperBlue Ultra Coomassie Stain offers low detection limits of 4 ng without reducing protein scores.
