Minimizing the effects of water vapor and carbon dioxide in IR spectra

14 Mar 2022

In this application note, JASCO introduces two measurement options to minimize the effects of CO2 and water vapor in the infrared region, “Shuttle Measurement” and “Purge and Vacuum”.

FT/IR-6000 Series FT-IR Spectrometers

JASCO (USA)

The FT/IR-6000 series from JASCO offers advanced capabilities for high performance, research grade FT-IR.The 6000 series attains the highest performance level in its class with exceptional signal to noise ratio (SNR) specifications. All models in the series are designed with flexibility and expandability in mind making them suitable for a wide range of research applications allowing extended measurement from Near to Far-IR regions.

Infrared / IR SpectroscopyInfrared (IR) spectroscopy measures the interaction of infrared light with a sample, including transmission, reflectance & absorbance, facilitating the identification of analytes. Equipment used for quantitative analysis includes Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometers, infrared cameras, FTIR gas analyzers, as well as attenuated total reflectance (ATR) accessories and pellet or film presses. Measurements can be conducted using a Fourier-transform near infrared (FT-NIR) spectrometer, while there are also UV-Vis- NIR spectrophotometers that measure a broader spectrum of wavelengths.
