Microsaic 3500 MiD: The Chip-Based Molecular Ion Detector for HPLC

This application note describes the flexibility of the Microsaic 3500 MiD when applied to HPLC. The fully integrated ‘molecular ion detector’ is used for online analysis of liquid samples (e.g. from liquid chromatography) in which all the components used for ion generation, transmission and mass analysis are micro-engineered. A number of other features including the chip components which are produced in batches on wafers using MEMS micro-fabrication techniques are described.
