Method for Testing the Viscosity of Mouthwash
12 Jun 2017This application note presents a method for assessing the viscosity of mouthwash using a Brookfield LVDV-III Ultra Rheometer with Rheocalc v3.1 software for automated instrument control and data acquisition. It describes how the rheometer allowed running of the speed ramp test at a wide variety of speeds and gives example experimental results.

RheometryRheometers are used to measure the rheology of fluids, which is the flow of fluids in response to an applied force. The most common types of rheometer include shear rheometers (capillary, cone and plate and rotational cylinder) and extensional rheometers. Viscometers are similar to rheometers however viscometers only measure the viscosity of a fluid.RheologyBeverage AnalysisBeverage analysis involves testing and evaluating the composition, quality, and safety of drinks, from alcoholic beverages to soft drinks.
