Insights into the environmental impact of a 5 mL tube

Biobased plasticware are made from renewable sources, but how to improve the environmental performance of these products and how much better they are compared to their fossil counterparts remains unknown. Eppendorf investigated these questions using a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). Explore the methodology of the LCA as well as the outcomes of the LCA analysis of the biobased 5 mL Eppendorf screw-cap tubes compared to fossil oil counterparts. Eppendorf also offers possible scenarios for future improvements.
