Increased Yield with Isolation of a Low-copy Plasmid Using Eppendorf Tubes® 5.0 mL Compared to the 1.5 mL and 2 mL Formats
19 Jun 2013Isolation of plasmid DNA is an important method in molecular biology, which plays a role in the analysis of recombinant clones, to name just one application. However, frequently the limited starting volume results in the problem of a low DNA yield. This application note demonstrates the extent to which plasmid DNA yield may be increased when using Eppendorf Tubes 5.0 mL for the isolation of a low-copy plasmid in comparison with 1.5 mL and 2 mL tubes.
