In-line filtration of groundwater samples for heavy metal analysis with Sartolab P20 Plus

27 Sept 2022

In this application note, Sartorius presents the Sartolab® P20 Plus in-line filter, which was compared with syringe filters with regard to its suitability based on throughput, particle reduction, and heavy metal recovery. Based on the results, Sartolab® P20 Plus in-line filters are suitable for sample preparation of groundwater for heavy metal analysis and therefore simplify on-site sampling  .

Sartolab® P20 Pressure Filter Units

Sartorius Group

Sartolab® P20 devices are ready-to-use pressure filter units for general laboratory use like the clarification and sterile filtration of media and aqueous solutions in batches from 100 mL to 10 L. Sartolab® P20 Plus with an incorporated prefilter is recommended for difficult-to-filter solutions like, for example, media that contains serum. Benefits: Highest flow rates with a large surface of filtration (20 cm²) No loss of protein with a low binding membrane Low dead volume due to an optimized membrane support Versions available with a prefilter for high particle load solutions

FiltrationFiltration and microfiltration are used to separate solids, particulates or large molecules from fluids (liquid or gases) in order to purify the filtrate. Explore a range of filter formats, including filter paper, plates and membranes for your separation needs. While larger particulates may be separated by gravity filtration, smaller particulates may require additional force for timely separation. Microfiltration equipment includes vacuum filters, as well as positive pressure, crossflow and centrifugal filtration devices.
