Homogenization of Gills of Mytilus Galloprovincialis (Mediterranean Mussel) with Precellys® Evolution
28 Sept 2016Samples of mussel gill homogenates are important to evaluate biomarkers of water pollution, such as total oxidant status (TOS) and total antioxidant capacity (TAC). This application note details the protocol for homogenizing mussel gills with a using a Precellys Evolution and the Precellys Lysing Kit CK14. This is an efficient homogenization method that can process up to 24 samples in 2mL tubes simultaneously that produces a sample from which water pollution can be extracted.
