Guidelines for Phasing Variants Using Bio-Rad's Droplet Digital PCR System

30 Aug 2018

This application note shows how droplet digital PCR can be used to determine which alleles are located on the same chromosome, a process known as phasing. Unlike traditional phasing methods which are labor-intensive, low-throughput and limited in distance, Drop Phase is easy to perform, high throughput and works over large genomic distances.

Genome AnalysisGenomics, the study of genomes, includes functional genomics, evolutionary genomics and comparative genomics. There are many genomic technologies such as DNA sequencing of whole genomes, computational biology and bioinformatics. DNA and nucleic acids must be isolated and concentrated from cells for analysis with kits, automated analyzers and software. Other useful technologies for studying genomics include PCR, microarrays and electrophoresis.GenomicsGenomics is the study of genomes, focusing on the sequencing, analysis, and interpretation of genetic material. It is key in understanding genetic diseases, evolutionary biology, and personalized medicine. Techniques like next-generation sequencing (NGS) are commonly used in genomics research.
