Glyburide and Metformin analyzed with HPLC

23 Mar 2022

In this application note, MicroSolv Technology Corporation demonstrates how the polar compound, Metformin, and the nonpolar compound Glyburide, can be retained on the same stationary phase. Depending on the mobile phase composition either Metformin or Glyburide can be retained longer.

Cogent Bidentate C18™ HPLC Columns

MicroSolv Technology Corp.

Cogent Bidentate C18™ HPLC Columns are manufactured with TYPE-C™ silica (silica hydride) and a straight chain C18 hydrocarbon bonded directly to the Silica Hydride surface with two separate points of attachment. The manufacturing of the Silica makes these columns virtually indestructible.

UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns.
