Exploring the Effect of Carbon Microstructure on Lithium-Ion Battery Performance using Raman Spectroscopy and Analytical Imaging

25 Aug 2015

With the upsurge in use of portable electronic devices such as tablets and mobile phones, through to the development of environmentally-friendly electronically-powered vehicles, the demand for more efficient and powerful batteries is at an all-time high. The impact of the microstructure of the carbon used to manufacture graphite electrodes on battery performance is considered in this application note. Use of the Morphologi G3-ID in the development and manufacture of new, more efficient carbon-based battery electrodes is also explored.
