This application note reviews the standard available formats for high-throughput plate systems from Wheaton, as well as uniquely designed solutions to decrease the risk of cross contamination and allow for better process flow integration, resulting in the maintenance of sample integrity and accuracy of sample analysis.

MicroLiter Chromatography / Autosampler Vials

WHEATON

MicroLiter was founded in 1996 to supply autosampler vials and consumables for the industry’s leading autosamplers. In 2012, MicroLiter became part of the WHEATON family of products.Since inception, MicroLiter has made the fundamental decision to only offer products that offered proven stable performance and to avoid those products that had a wide range of tolerances which could impede the performance of the autosampler. In addition to meeting the requirements of our customers, MicroLiter has formatted the vials in ways that allowed for the more efficient transfer of samples from the prep lab to the autosampler. MicroLiter and WHEATON realize that the autosampler vials we offer hold the most expensive solutions produced by the lab.MicroLiter Plate Sampling System™ for All Your Chromatography Needs MicroLiter has assembled the right products together to give you a comprehensive listing of the microplates that work best for chromatography. We’ve done our homework so you don’t have to. Before we listed any products, we made sure that we offered you a closure that works the same way you have been accustomed to when working with standard chromatography vials. Our patented MicroLiter Plate Sampling System™ of microplates, glass inserts, μLmats™ and / or caps with chromatography-based septa offer you secure vessels to maintain even the most volatile samples. Our polypropylene μLplates® have a variety of closures that will stabilize the sample during the analytical sample run and, if necessary, reseal after the sample has been injected. We also offer you the security of a stopper coupled with the strength of a patented mechanical closure system that seals the limited volume insert on the inside surface of the insert and compresses the PTFE / Silicone rubber using a mechanical seal so that even GC samples can be converted to 96-well format in our system of microplates. A variety of insert options lets you set the specifications appropriate for your application. MicroLiter can accept orders by phone (888.232.7840 / 770.932.6565) or via our website www.wheaton.com.

AutosamplersAutosamplers are automated sample loaders used with a number of separation and analytical techniques. HPLC autosamplers use automated partial or full-loop injection systems and place samples in vials or microplates for analysis. Autosamplers can also be used for elemental analysis. Features to consider include repeatability, syringe capacity, footprint and temperature controls.  Plate ProcessingAutomated plate processing is used in microplate technologies for high-throughput, speed and efficiency. Plate processing systems include microplate handlers for moving plates, heat sealers, stackers and carousels for storage, retrieval and delivery, microplate washers and piercers. Useful features of plate processors include walk-away automation, compatibility and easy integration with microplate systems.Automated Liquid HandlingAutomated liquid handling equipment is used to mix, dilute and dispense allotted volumes of liquid into microplates and other vessels automatically. The robotic, liquid handling arms can dispense from single channel to 3456 multichannel as well as operate nanoliter dispensing, enabling high throughput of samples.
