Cancer Immunotherapy: Agilent xCELLigence RTCA handbook

22 Nov 2023

In this handbook, Agilent Technologies provides insights into cancer immunotherapy, exploring the strategies employed to harness the immune system for tumor targeting. The guide introduces Agilent xCELLigence real-time cell analysis (RTCA) and its diverse applications in cancer immunotherapy. It details how the xCELLigence RTCA assay works, covering the measurement of cellular impedance with E-Plates and explaining real-time cellular impedance traces.

xCELLigence RTCA DP

Agilent Technologies

The Agilent xCELLigence Real-Time Cell Analysis (RTCA) DP (dual purpose) instrument continuously measures cell invasion and migration (CIM) and monitors cell health, behavior, and function using label-free cellular impedance. The three cradles of the DP instrument enable three separate electronic 16-well plates to be controlled and monitored in parallel or independently of one another. This flexible plate batch processing allows maximum productivity for multiple users. The instrument operates in a standard CO2 cell culture incubator and the control unit is housed outside the incubator. Online data acquisition and offline data analysis are easy to perform using RTCA Software Pro, which also supports FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

AntibodiesAntibodies are used in techniques such as confocal and fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT, immunohistochemistry, western blotting and immunopreciptation. Select specific antigen reactivity, high specific affinity, low non-specific binding, monoclonal or polyclonal, primary or secondary antibodies and associated conjugates such as an enzyme or dye for visualization.BiosensorsBiosensors are devices used to detect an analyte using biological molecules specific to the analyte coupled to a detector. Biosensor instruments may be photometric, typically using surface plasma resonance (SPR), electrochemical or QCM (quartz crystal microbalance) biosensors. Biosensors should be selective, portable, robust and sensitive and have a fast response time. Systems may be manual or automated and usually have associated software.Cell / Tissue CultureCell culture or tissue culture is used to study the biology of cells or tissues and to isolate cellular products in an environment which can be manipulated and well defined. Accurately control your culture environment with bioreactors or culture incubators, bind your cells to a surface or together with an extracellular matrix. Distinguish cell types with differential media or proliferate cells with certain characteristics using selective media. Enrich your media with supplements such as growth factors, sera and vitamins. High-quality cells, optimized for your applications, alongside optimized cell substrates, growth medium and supplements, are critical for experimental success. Explore a range of cells suitable for your applications, including isogenic cell lines, competent cells, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cell lines, fungal/bacterial/mammalian cell lines, stem cells and cancer cell lines. Find the best cells for your research in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.ImmunologyImmunological techniques measure and characterize immune responses. Immunology kits and analysis systems often use techniques such as ELISA, radioimmunoassay (RIA) and immunodiffusion assays, Immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. Immunologists use equipment such as flow Cytometers, plate readers, plate washers and fluorescent microscopes.Cell AnalysisThe analysis of cells allows researchers to understand the factors which contribute to cell health and function. These influencing processes can then be predicted and altered, leading to the development of medication and disease treatments.ImmunotherapyImmunotherapy is a treatment approach that utilizes the bodys immune system to fight diseases, especially cancer. It includes therapies such as monoclonal antibodies, checkpoint inhibitors, and CAR-T cell therapy. Immunotherapy is a rapidly growing area of research in oncology and autoimmune diseases. Browse our peer-reviewed product directory to find the best immunotherapy tools, compare products, check reviews, and get pricing directly from manufacturers.Cancer ResearchAlthough cancer is often referred to as a single condition, it actually consists of more than 100 different diseases. Microscopy, mass spectrometry, high throughput sequencing and flow cytometry are some of the most common techniques employed in cancer research labs.
