Biomolecular stability analysis for the regulated environment
7 Dec 2020Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is a powerful analytical technique which characterizes the thermal stability of proteins and other biomolecules. In solution, these molecules often undergo thermally-induced conformational changes, such as the breaking of non-covalent bonds leading to the unfolding of a protein. The information delivered by DSC is ‘gold standard’, label-free stability data which can be used for a variety of purposes.

CalorimetryCalorimetry is a technique used to determine the heat released or absorbed in a chemical reaction. Calorimeters can be categorized into bomb calorimeters, constant pressure calorimeters, differential scanning calorimeters, isothermal titration calorimeters, X-ray microcalorimeters, heat-loss calorimeters, and high-energy particle calorimeters. The choice of calorimeter depends on the application.Molecular BiologyMolecular biology is the branch of biology that focuses on the molecular mechanisms that underlie cellular functions.
