Bertin Corp Solutions for Hard Sample Grinding
5 Jan 2016This application note demonstrates the capabilities of Precellys® Evolution and their 7ml metal tubes in grinding hard samples such as teeth and bones. Up to now, the grinding of very hard samples like these requires a pre-grinding step in liquid nitrogen with hammer or mortar in order to get the desired size pieces. With the new 7mL tube designed in metal, Precellys® is now able to grind up to 6 mammalian bones or teeth samples without any pretreatment, making tasks such as extracting nucleic acids significantly easier. Consequently, the quality and quantity of extracted molecules is significantly increased, leading to more accurate and precise results.
