This application note describes the a method for the analysis of seawater samples using an automated, multi-mode sample handling and delivery system, the seaFAST 3, coupled with the NexION® 300D ICP-MS. It is demonstrated that this combination avoids many of the problems associated with the ultra-trace determination of elements in seawater and that detection limits are radically improved, reaching single ppt levels.
