Automated Library Synthesis (ALiS) System

12 Jan 2023

In this product brochure, Particle Works presents the Automated Library Synthesis (ALiS) System. ALiS is a game-changing automated microfluidic platform, specifically for high-throughput screening of LNP and other nanoparticle formulations encapsulating genetic material, e.g. mRNA, for early-stage development of genetic medicines and vaccines. It is a high-throughput screening platform that automates changing formulations between experimental runs, performing up to 96 unique experiments unattended in under 6 hours. Working with low volumes, ALiS significantly accelerates early-stage R&D/Discovery projects - reducing labor, reagent and input costs.

Combinatorial ChemistryCombinatorial chemistry, also known as combichem, is a technique used in drug discovery to create libraries of structurally related compounds. A library is generated by synthesis with a chemical reactor system or by computer-based modeling of compound combinations. When undertaking combinatorial chemistry consider reagents, buffers, resins and standards.ProteomicsProteomics is the systemic bioinformatics study of proteins and amino acids, including their structure, size, function and identification. Tools used in proteomics include chromatography, blotting and gels, protein arrays, mass spectrometry and ELISA and associated analysis software. Analyzers and proteomic systems should be sensitive, high resolution, fast and may be automated for high-throughput.AutomationAutomation in laboratories and manufacturing processes enhances efficiency, precision, and scalability by reducing the need for manual intervention. It plays a critical role in improving productivity, minimizing human error, and accelerating workflows in fields like diagnostics, drug development, and industrial testing. Automation technologies include robotic systems, automated liquid handlers, and process control systems that streamline complex tasks and ensure consistent, reproducible results.
