An Automated, High-Throughput Approach to Generating Cocrystals with Solvent-Drop Grinding (SDG)
4 Sept 2018Cocrystals, which are often made by solvent drop grinding (SDG), are known to improve characteristics such as solubility, bioavailability and stability of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Most SDG methods are currently performed manually and involve labor-intensive time-consuming steps. This application note describes the development of an automated high-throughput method for cocrystal screening, with Unchained Labs' Big Kahuna system for small molecule preformulation, which will enable exploration of a much broader experimental space than manual methods.
