The Geode first partitions the sample into 20,000-30,000 droplets using pressure control and then a PCR reaction occurs in each of the individual droplets.
The Prism3 scans the chambers containing the droplets using three different fluorescence channels and provides droplet crystal images with a measure of the detected target nucleic acids.

The Sapphire chip consists of 4 chambers where the samples are partitioned into homogenous droplet crystals using cutting edge microfluidic technique, and an inlet and an outlet port for loading and recovering the sample from each chamber, respectively.
The Opal chip consists of 16 chambers where the samples are partitioned into homogenous droplet crystals using a cutting-edge microfluidic technique.
