In 2012 the denovoMATRIX technology was born in the labs of Prof. Yixin Zhang at the BCUBE Center for Molecular Bioengineering of Technical University Dresden. We quickly realized the potential of the technology for novel biomaterials to mimic the microenvironments of various human tissues. In order to harness the potential of the technology, we have been working on product development since 2016 with support of the EXIST research transfer of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Investigating various applications of our biomaterials, we have selected ultra-thin layers for cell culture plastics as the first product line. With that in mind we founded denovoMATRIX GmbH in August 2018 as a spin-off of the TU Dresden with the vision of recreating the complex human biology in the lab. Our mission is to help scientists bringing the biological relevance and reproducibility of their cell culture applications to the next level.
