Label-free, real-time cell analysis in a wireless format.
The RTCA iCELLigence™ instrument uses noninvasive electrical impedance monitoring to quantify cell proliferation, morphology change, and attachment quality in a label-free, real-time manner. The instrument is placed in a standard CO2 cell culture incubator where it transmits data wirelessly to the Control Unit (an iPad housed outside the incubator). User friendly software allows for real-time interfacing with two separate electronic 8-well plates, and includes real-time data display and analysis functions. The larger well size in these plates provides enough cells for complementary assays including western blotting, sequencing analyses, FACS, imaging, etc.
By skipping the guesswork associated with end-point assays and eliminating the time- and labor-intensive steps of traditional techniques, real-time cell analysis (RTCA) with the iCELLigence™ vastly improves efficiency and overall productivity. It is currently being used worldwide in industrial and academic labs in applications that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Drug-Mediated Cytotoxicity/Apoptosis
- Cell-Mediated Cytotoxicity and ADCC
- GPCR-, NHR-, and RTK-Mediated Cell Signaling
- Virus-Mediated Cytopathic Effects
- Wound Healing
- Endothelial Barrier Function
- Stem Cell Differentiation
- Immune Cell Activation
- Phenotypic Screening
- Cell Quality Control
- Cell Adhesion and Spreading
- Cell Response Profiling: Small Molecule & siRNA
- Cell-Cell Interactions: Co-Culture
