Electrochemical film deposition and gas capture
I recently purchased the Gamry Interface 1010B this year to support my new direction of electrochemistry research, and I have been very impressed with its reliability and straightforward operation. Despite its simple and intuitive interface, the instrument offers a remarkably wide range of advanced functions. I was so satisfied with its performance that I tested it further and decided to purchase an additional unit. Currently, I am using it not only for electrochemical materials deposition but also to analyze data such as CV curves to better understand the electrochemical interactions between deposited films and CO2. I am very excited about the possibilities this system enables in my research. :)

The potentiostat is a reliable, precise, and simple tool
Renewable energy conversion
The Gamry 1010B potentiostat has proven to be an excellent tool for my electrochemical research needs (CV, CA, CP, LSV, EIS, and Mott-Schottky techniques). Its reliability, precision, and ease of use have been within the expectations.

Good potentiostat. Would prefer Reference model. Software still not as good as others.
Electrochemistry
I like Gamry - they make some great potentiostats but I was a bit sad to learn that when I tried running a CV with PF iR compensation it did not seem compatible. In hindsight the Reference model might have been a preferable choice given such a limitation. Otherwise, I really think that the user interface for Gamry's software is rather clunky and non-intuitive. For example, Bio-logic and EC-lab has a far superior software that comes with it. Granted despite the steep learning curve it's not too bad afterwards, however, one flaw remains that you cannot change settings (for say a CV) in real time like some other softwares.

If you're looking for a general-purpose potentiostat for cyclic voltammetry or similar studies for basic research such as determining redox potentials, reaction mechanisms, diffusion coefficients, rate constants and electrochemical surface area. You can also run electrochemical plating and electrodeposition experiments or experiments for determining concentrations of trace analytes in solution. In addition to the above capabilities you get an introductory software development toolkit that gives you the ability to develop your own program or interface to other instruments.
