Highly flexible and powerful software package
XRD data analysis
HighScore in the Pus version is a very powerful XRD data analysis tool. The fact that it is highly customisable means that there is a steep learning curve initially, but once the favourite desktops and routines are set up, analyses can be streamlined while maintaining flexibility. A big shout-out to the current development team, particularly Thomas Degen, who has been very quick to respond with fixes to reported bugs and inconveniences. The only drawback, also mentioned by someone else, is the cost, which is high for an individual or a small company.

Good but pricey
XRD phase analysis & materials-elemental ratio
HighScore Plus is easy to use & has a highly reliable results analysis, with an open resource & downloadable database from the crystallographic open database (COD). However, the software is quite pricey and doesn't fit with an early career researcher's funding & budget.
