In this application note, UCT, Inc., outlines a suggested extraction procedure and an optional fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl chloride (FMOC) derivatization step that allows for the analysis of glyphosate on a C18 HPLC column. UCT’s Enviro-Clean® Glyphosate Push Thru Purification Cartridge simplifies glyphosate analysis in water, soil, vegetation, and fruit, and eliminates matrix components that cause ion-suppression, making glyphosate easier to ionize.

The QuEChERS Clean-up step is rapidly completed using the QuICK QuEChERS cartridge. This self-contained cartridge contains 110 mg of anhydrous MgSO4 and 180 mg of PSA. Placed on the end of a disposable syringe, the QuEChERS extract is pushed through directly into a sample vial for analysis. Clean-up is equivalent to dSPE clean-up, but faster and easier, eliminating the need for centrifugation.

This is removed from extracts using graphitized carbon black (GCB) Unfortunately, GCB also removes planar analytes reducing analytical accuracy. ChloroFiltr®, used in place of GCB in dSPE tubes, removes unwanted chlorophyll without removing pesticides or environmental analytes. No change in procedure are required.

Positive Pressure Manifold - A simple, robust way to quickly process up to 48 samples at one time. The Positive Pressure Manifold can accommodate a multitude of column sizes and provides even flow to each position. Positive Pressure Manifold Features: All 48 positions are individually regulated to provide even pressure to each column. There are four banks of 12 positions each. The user can control flow to each of the four banks. Capacity of 1 to 48 columns adaptable for size 1mL, 3mL, 6mL, 10mL or 15mL. Air Supply: N2 or compressed air regulated to 75 psi and filtered to 10μm. Dual pressure regulators allow users to set different pressures for extraction and column drying.
