Description

The CLAM-2040 is a fully automated sample preparation module for LCMS that performs LC-MS/MS analysis by simply loading blood collection tubes, reagents, and dedicated filtration vials into the system. Automation of the process shortens the time required for pre-treatment, reduces errors and variability, and further improves efficiency of research or business processes.

Key features:

  • Standardize workflows: The latest quality control functionalities, including alerts and reduces the variability in sample results thanks to the absence of manual steps.
  • Operational productivity: Automation enables LCMS analysis to be performed any time, any day.
  • Flexibility: Compatible with a wide range of Shimadzu methods and supports your own laboratory developed tests (LDT).
  • Full evolution potential: Freedom to choose your LCMS configuration and high resolution LCMS is also available (Q-TOF), facilitating large screenings

Transforming LC-MS/MS blood sample processing for faster clinical results

September 17, 2025, at 13:00 BST / 14:00 CEST / 08:00 EDT / 05:00 PDT

Processing an ever-growing number of blood samples in clinical labs places constant pressure on laboratory staff, workflows, and instrumentation to deliver accurate, high-throughput results with minimal turnaround time.

Traditional LC-MS/MS workflows are used to analyze blood samples and though they are highly sensitive and specific, they often require experienced personnel, manual sample preparation, and time-consuming data handling.

Discover in this exciting webinar how automation can transform these bottlenecks. Hear from Dr. Frank Streit from University Medical Center Göttingen, as he discusses how a Clinical Laboratory Automated Module (CLAM) can streamline processes from barcode scanning and Laboratory Information System (LIS)-driven test selection, to sample prep, analysis, and result reporting.

Key learning objectives:

  • Understand how the CLAM-2040 enables full automation of LC-MS/MS workflows, from barcode scanning to result reporting.
  • Find out how the integration of the CLAM-2040 with LIS systems via HL7 interface offers seamless data exchange and test request handling.
  • Recognize the advantages of 24/7 unattended operation for high-throughput clinical testing environments.
  • Discover how non-expert technicians can perform complex LC-MS/MS analyses without specialized mass spectrometry or chromatography training.

Who should attend?

  • Clinical laboratory professionals involved in diagnostic testing, including lab managers, medical technologists, and clinical scientists seeking to streamline LC-MS/MS workflows and increase throughput.
  • Healthcare and clinical decision-makers including pathologists, clinical chemists, and laboratory directors interested in adopting automated, scalable mass spectrometry solutions.
