Description

The versatile instrument for voltammetry

797 VA Computrace is a modern voltammetric work station connected to the PC via a USB port. The complementary PC software controls the determination, records and evaluates the measured data. Thanks to the sophisticated program design the operation is unbeatably simple. All the methods that are described in the Metrohm Application Bulletins and Metrohm Application Notes are already preinstalled. The integrated new designed potentiostat with galvanostat guarantees highest precision with reduced noise. The well-proven Multi Mode Electrode (MME) as well as rotating disk electrodes (RDE) from different materials are available as working electrodes, of course.

MVA-13: Fully-automated analysis 797 VA Computrace system for the unattended determination of organic additives by CVS in the routine lab

The MVA-13 is Metrohm’s top-of-the-line system for the fully automated determination of organic additives in electroplating solutions by CVS (Cyclic Voltammetric Stripping). Series of up to 56 samples can be analyzed for their suppressor content in a sequential procedure. The maximum number of samples in brightener determination is 28. The option for the method recalibration during an automatic run of a series of samples guarantees the highest possible accuracy and flexibility. The system is based on the 797 VA Computrace with three 800 Dosinos for the automatic addition of auxiliary solutions. In the suppressor determination VMS, as well as the plating bath sample are added by the 800 Dosinos. In the determination of brighteners intercept solution and brightener standard solution is added by 800 Dosinos, the peristaltic pump of the 838 Advanced Sample Processor is used for the automatic sample transfer from the sample vessel on the sample rack into the measuring vessel of the 797 VA Computrace. The two attached 823 Membrane Pump Units rinse and empty the vessel after each analysis. The whole analysis sequence is controlled by the 797 VA Computrace software. The system accessories includes all required accessories with the rotating platinum electrode as the standard working electrode.

Combustion Ion Chromatography – automated determination of halogens and sulfur in solid and liquid samples

Metrohm presents Combustion IC (CIC), a fully automated system for the simultaneous determination of halogens and sulfur in widely differing matrices. With CIC, unlike with alternative methods the concentrations of the different halogens can each be shown separately. Moreover, digestion by pyrolysis is superior to offline digestion methods with regard to sample throughput and precision and correctness of results. CIC is ideal for routine analysis in a variety of fields, as it neither prior knowledge about the sample matrix nor complicated method development are required. CIC is recommended for quality control of raw materials, intermediates and finished products, and is also suitable for straightforward monitoring of compliance with the relevant laws and standards in the environmental field (e.g. DIN EN 228, IEC 60502-1, RoHS, WEEE, ...). Thus, CIC enables determination of halogens and sulfur in all kinds of fuels, lubricants, additives and other petroleum products, as well as in polymers, flame retardants, textiles, special chemicals, catalysts and all kinds of waste. The new CIC system consists of a Combustion Module from Analytik Jena and an absorption and IC part from Metrohm. Sample digestion is controlled automatically by a flame sensor. The flame sensor measures the light from the pyrolysis oven and controls the feed rate of the sample boat into the oven in proportion to the intensity of the light emitted during combustion. Thus, duration of the combustion is optimized so that combustion of the sample is always complete (soot prevention), while time consuming delays of throughput are avoided. Thanks to the automated control of the sample digestion, method development for combustion is no longer needed; both different matrices and different sample quantities can be treated using the same, universal «method». The complete system, including sample delivery, sample digestion and analysis, is controlled by MagIC Net™, the proven software for ion chromatography.
