Product news

YSI has announced the launch of its latest Biochemistry Analyzer, the YSI 2900. The 2900 Analyzer will measure two compatible chemistries simultaneously from Glucose, Lactate, Glutamine, Glutamate, Xylose, Ethanol, Sucrose, Methanol, Galactose, Lactose, Choline and Hydrogen Peroxide.

Advantages of the new analyzer include a small footprint, user friendly software with touch screen, onboard training videos and foreign language capability.

The unique chamber design, with a short and wide aspiration path, makes it highly clog resistant. Users also benefit from flexible data handling and connectivity, which allows the easy download of data to memory stick, PC or network via USB, Ethernet or RS232 ports.

As an economical analyzer to both buy and run, the YSI 2900 is the analyser of choice for many applications, such as glucose and lactate in critical bioprocess monitoring; xylose and glucose, or glucose and ethanol, in biofuel production and research; processing and quality assurance in many food and beverages; whole blood glucose in diabetes measurement and research.

YSI 2300 Biochemistry Analyzer

YSI Life Sciences (UK) Ltd

The YSI 2300 will measure glucose and lactate simultaneously, giving accurate results in one minute or less. It uses the tried and tested YSI immobilized enzyme technology, which has become the 'gold standard' in glucose measurement and used by the manufacturing companies to calibrate their glucometers. It is simple to use with minimal operator training required - present a sample to the sipper tube and press the keypad. The 23000 automatically aspirates the sample and in 60 seconds or less, displays and prints the levels.

Clinical ChemistryBiochemistry (or clinical chemistry) involves the analysis of bodily fluids using chemical tests. Techniques used include HPLC, chromatography, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, immunochemical, electrophoresis, turbidometric / spectrophotometric assay, MRI and ISE analysis. Tests are often carried out on plasma or serum but urine (urinalysis) and fecal specimens are also processed.GlucoseLactateDiabetesDiabetes is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels, either due to insufficient insulin production or resistance to its effects.
