Xceed Molecular, a pioneer in the development of cost-effective, easy-to-use gene-expression analysis systems, announced that the company will feature its Ziplex Automated Gene-Expression System at Biomarker World Congress, booth 16. Currently available for research use only in the US and Canada, the Ziplex System is the first integrated system for automated gene-expression analysis. It comprises an automated hybridization workstation, TipChip consumable arrays, reagents, and analysis/reporting software. Biomarker World Congress takes place May 19-21, 2008, at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Pennsylvania.

“Translational research (the movement of existing gene-expression biomarkers from basic science into routine clinical use for patient diagnostics) – and the ultimate goal of personalized medicine – has been hampered because the available technology to process microarrays is complex, expensive, and time-consuming,” said Xceed’s President and CEO, David Deems. “Results from traditional technology are also prone to unacceptable levels of variability to meet the rigorous performance and quality-control needs of the clinical-diagnostic laboratory.
