Product news

Microscopy with Image Analysis is one of the fastest growing new methods of particle characterisation, offering the additional measurement of particle shape as well as size.

In support of this increasing trend, Whitehouse Scientific has developed a new range of glass calibration microspheres. These include standards for Image Analysis in a variety of new weights, and an extension to the range of single size Monospheres. The Monosphere range now covers sizes from below 10 micron to over 1 mm. Furthermore, a 1 - 10 micron Polydisperse standard can now be used to test the resolving power of the analytical system at very small particle sizes.

Particle CharacterizationParticle characterization instruments are used to determine particle size distribution, shape, surface area, zeta potential, density and porosity of particles and materials. Multiple tecchniques are available for determining particle size, shape and count including dynamic light scattering (DLS), laser diffraction, electrozone (Coulter technique), imaging particle analysis and single particle optical sensing. Determine the density of your material with a gas pycnometer or examine its surface area and porosity with gas adsorption analyzers and mercury porosimeters.
