Product news

Learn more about the industry's fastest mass spectrometers at ASMS 2009—May 31-June 4 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. LECO's innovative line of instrumentation includes the TruTOF® HT benchtop GCMS, Pegasus® HT GCMS, Pegasus 4D GCxGC-MS, and the Unique® HT LCMS.

All LECO Separation Science instruments feature new ChromaTOF® 4.20 software. This dynamic software package integrates acquisition, processing, and reporting tools into one total data solution. New features include enhanced graphics, an improved user interface, and exportable Statistical Compare functionality. For your most challenging metabolomics samples, the LECO/Fiehn Metabolite Mass Spectral Library contains over 1,100 spectra of 700 unique metabolites and is fully integrated within ChromaTOF. A number of oral and poster presentations by LECO application chemists will highlight the use of these instruments and software features in industry-specific applications.

In addition to hosting hospitality suites Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings of the conference, LECO will also host a User's Meeting for current customers and instrument users on Sunday, May 31st. For more information and details, follow the company article webpage link.

Gas ChromatographyGas chromatography (GC) is an analytical technique used to separate and quantitate mixtures of small and volatile compounds. Gas chromatographs or GC systems include components such as GC columns, detectors, pumps and autosamplers. Choose from packed or capillary GC columns, flame ionization (FID), photoionization (PID) electron capture detectors and selective or non-selective detectors. Find the best gas chromatographs in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.LC-MSLC-MS (liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry) systems and equipment are used for separation and quantitative analysis of complex mixtures, combining liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. Quantify proteins, contaminants, pesticides or screen for drug metabolites with a high level of sensitivity. LC-MS systems and equipment include reverse phase, normal phase and specialized columns integrated with various MS detectors such as time-of-flight (TOF), quadrupole, orbitrap or ion trap mass analyzers. LC-MS/MS instruments equipped with a qTOF or triple quadrupole analyzer give greater sensitivity and resolving power to your analysis. It provides detailed information about the structure, composition, and properties of compounds and is widely used across fields such as environmental monitoring, materials science, drug discovery and development, food and beverage testing, and wider chemical research. Key MS techniques include tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS), liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LS-MS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP-MS). Choosing from these wide range of techniques and technologies can be a daunting task, so keep up to date with scientific applications, performance expectations, and customer reviews here all in one place. Visit our product directory to receive quotes direct from the manufacturer. MALDI-TOF MSMALDI-TOF mass spectrometers (matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight) are used for the mass analysis of large molecules, including proteins, DNA, polymers and other macromolecules due to its relatively soft ionization, reducing fragmentation whilst allowing fast data acquisition. Tandem mass analyzers such as TOF/TOF systems can be used to increase resolution and sensitivity of your analysis. Find the best MALDI-TOF products in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Thin Layer ChromatographyThin-layer chromatography (TLC), also called planar chromatography, is an inexpensive and simple liquid chromatographic technique used to separate and identify small amounts of compound in a mixture, monitor progress of a reaction or determine purity of substance. TLC plates come in multiple sizes with common adsorbent layers being silica, aluminum oxide or cellulose and high-performance (HP-TLC) plates are also available for increased sensitivity. Other equipment needed includes TLC developing chambers, applicators, TLC sprayers and visualizing devices, such as a viewing cabinet and UV lamp.
